That's exactly the problem I'm having, I have no control over idle. It just goes max rpm

just started it up for the first time and it idles at max rpm... it's only been run for a few seconds so far. any suggestions?

It can suck and blow air out of the same port instead of pressurizing when i put my finger over the other port, i'm sure they have failed.

Nearly finished project, waiting for a body respray and grille and such put back on. Let me know what you think :)

The lift pump was working for a few minutes while i was bleeding the system out, then stopped working, ie was sucking and blowing air from both the in and out ports. I then replaced the lift pump a few days later, was bleeding the system out again, and then guess what? the lift pump failed! same...

It shouldn't vibrate when you are going up a hill, that suggests something vibrates when it comes under load, not saying it is, but like the turbo only kicks in when under load. The problem is, it could be gearbox or transfer box, drivetrain, it could be anything really!

So the conversion is well under way. Radiator is fitted, electric fan fitted, engine to be put back together, but while i am waiting for parts i thought i'd get everything ready. A lot of stuff has been done but i don't know what to do about an air filter. The original one won't fit, and i can't...

Thanks, but I've managed to source a turbo and manifold for my conversion, turbo is in really good condition.

I think i will be using the standard 90 exhaust, except i will use the 300tdi downpipe and modify it to fit around the engine mount.
