oldsea dog you dont know how close i was to ringing you up lol but im one of these people that once i start a job i like to be the one to finish it just put prop on and went for a run and problem is solved i found it quite hard but very enjoyable at the same time [if you get my drift]

well lads i finally managed to complete the job today and im well chuffed with myself a bit harder than i thought but i got there in the end thanks again busters guide :)

right lads been under car and after a good check the rear prop and uj,s are fine now the front prop is a different story the uj,s are really worn and its where ive been hearing the knocking sound so ive managed to get the prop off and will tackle uj,s when my hands thaw out and i put a few...

sorry to bother you all again but whats the part number i should ask for its a 92 k" reg fender im asking as local shop needs measurments etc and its hard enough thinking about doing the job so i dont want more complicated issues to deal with lol:doh:

just wanted to know how difficult it is to renew universal joints on prop shaft. do i need an experienced hand or could a newbie cope with it ? thankyou

hi there mate just a queery about winch controls .ihave acut off switch inside car and was wondering what position it should be in when notin operation i.e horizontal/vertical im asking as the grandkids were playing in it and there bound to have touched everything cheers -billy

changed fuel filterand so much better also found intercooler hose a bit loose so thanks again lads now i wonder what will go wrong next?:confused:

ivechecked all hoses /pipes mate and have fitted new fuel filter throttle linkage looks fine so will see how she goes tomorrow as ive a journey to take [hills included] if not ok will fit new fuel lift pump then have a look at the more expensive part -turbo thanx again

90 200 tdi seems VERY sluggish when travelling up hill [road] im having to drop gears to make it to top but then fine on the straight any help lads?

the whole top section mate[about 8 screws] you dont need clock section off tho

triedthat mate still solid it is loose enough to go back but i know what you mean about pulling it back gently just doesnt want to come back out
