I'll get it taken back to garage I took it to. It's a land rover specialist. spoke to my mate who is a mechanic and he says it's probably air in system or the pressure sensor / return valve on the rail. It's not failed to start and once over the rough patch it runs great.

Well that answers that. Any ideas what it would be?

Where did the person you sold it to come from. Saw a black F plate esprit in pontefract a few days ago.

Don't know if it helps but I lost a key and fob last year and had key insurance with tesco. They sent the AA out to programme a new (non landrover) key and new (Lucas) fob to my 2006 Td4 at my home address. Might make a difference that I still had a key and fob but can't see why it would. Also...

I suppose so but hasn't she just paid for a new key from dealer at x amount. Be interesting to know, and yeah who's going to nick a freelander when they can have a nice easy fender.

Was disappointed with billing last year. Never been to Peterborough but will try next year and the spring event at harrogate was not very good this year either.

Surely all she needs to do is get the car to the dealer and have it out with them as to what Owl has said. She doesn't need a new ecu if he Is right, and why go to the extra expense and loss of security by removing the immobiliser from the car.
