I don't mind criticism. Usually a mate does it. But to be honest I couldn't be bothered with his moaning. But I do like having a go. Great feeling when it's done. That's why I like mi disco. Easy to work on. Just wish I had a garage. :)

Well f@@k me never thought of that. Great Idea. Sister-in-law runs a pub. I'll bell them tomorrow. Cheers. Have used 80 20 Argon mix and must admit. It's nicer feel to weld. and hardly any splatter at all. When your on your back and a splatter bit somehow manages to find it's way on your head...

In need of some serious advice

Where's the Oil dripping from? Gunk the engine wash off and see if you notice where the oil is from. If from the bottom of the bell housing then my guess is yes. Rear oil seal on crank. It could just be a coincidence that your clutch is on the way out.

Car failed on welding. Thought i'd have a go myself this time. But as I knocked around the chassis. All I thought was scrap. Untill I started cutting it out and found an inch up there was least 2mm of metal so I got some 3mm plate and set too. This is my first time welding by the way. Spent a...

Newbie - about to take the plunge ...

"YOU CAN'T WELD" you soon will. But that's part of owning a Landrover. Doing all this stuff yourself. Keeping the thing on the road. Gives you a great sense of achievement and enjoyment. Then when you have sorted all the things needed to keep it on the road. You will want to take it apart and...

clutch might be ok Mine was new when i took gearbox out so didn't replace it. But if id have took it to a garage they would have and charged me. Prob even leave it and still charge. Defo fork. The pedal low was the pin on its way through. same happened on mine the pin must have caught half way through. the hydraulics took up the slack so I thought problem was gone. i know its simple but if you got pressure on clutch but not drive. has it slipped out of high range? if peddle on floor defo pin through. did mine by just moving gearbox back took 4 hours. £14 for new HD fork. better than the £600 a garage wanted to change the whole thing. rip offs. good luck

2" Suspension Lift - Cost to fit in a garage

Give them a knock with hammer and old screw driver. Penetrating oil loads of it. leave for a day. they will come off. Doubt you get a grinder in there. Good socket set and a good quality ring spanner. You be laughing. Good luck.
