    TD5 Defender Coolant Replacement

A future top up of 100% no don't do that! The efficiency and protection offered by antifreeze starts to fall after 50% concentration.

    5th gear “resistance”

A dragging brake would be my guess. Has someone over adjusted the handbrake?

Freelander 1 Brake light switch woes, blowing fuse

I'd go for the switch first and moisture in the bulbholders second. Make sure you check the wiring for chafing against anything else i.e.brake pedal, steering, etc.

86 Range Rover Classic Poor idle

Is this the Mother of all Cock Ups ?

I'm sure I have the timing pin tool, along with a load of other special tools that I no longer need which I'll probably offer up for sale, once allowed

    Android Car Play

Freelander 2 wont start, short crank

But is the glowplug light working now? I think you meed to get to the bottom of this and if need be rewire the glowplugs up once removed. You'll soon see which, if any, are working.

Check fuel volume, and pressure, delivered to the injection pump.

    Steering box drop arm play

Box is adjustable for slop Ball joint is rebuildable as previously stated. Patience with a strategically placed small G clamp pays dividends on reassembling the drop arm kit. Check the other x3 balljoints to ensure there's no more slack in the system ;) Might be worth checking the wheelnuts...

    Which engine is this?

That green colour on the block might imply its ex military.

    Seemed cheap!

Exactly. New chassis fitted  ...... probably not or that would've been highlighted as a selling point! It could be a right can of worms and only fit for parts, best off leaving it where it was.

    Seemed cheap!

@lightning if as you described, then that would've been cat D. Cat C Structural damage i.e. likely bent chassis or bulkhead. Some jobsworth has changed the labels, but what was wrong with the old ones? We are now on Cat S (C) or N (D). S is Structural and N is Non-structural.

Defender 200 tdi Pulsing white smoke when warm

A run on a spray tester will soon show up if they are all good or not. Hopefully it might just be one, then subject to mileage etc you can decide which route to go from there.

Defender 200 tdi Pulsing white smoke when warm

Have the injectors checked, sounds like heat is causing it to dribble.
