About 3 weeks ago my Defender 2.2 diesel , the Ford Engine one went into the garage to have the glow plugs changed, the mechanic snapped one off in the head , they are still waiting for a specialist to come and get it out, any one else had this problem, did they get the plug out without removing...

JLR and safety issues are a joke, my Range Rover Sport like many other Range Rover owners have had to put up the Air Bag warning light on and they do nothing about it.

Yes Alternator and battery packed up, both replaced now and all good again, obviously I am not praying enough to the Land Rover Gods before pressing that start button.

Not sure how old the battery is I have only owned this one about 3 months, I did get to speak to the Indy garage yesterday where it was taken to, they said looks like the Alternator has packed up and the battery is completely drained, here comes another big bill.

If it was the Diesel Engine I would of been very worried, it did start on a boost , what concerns me though is it’s been starting fine, no signs of the battery low.

Total loss of all Electrics to day while driving home including steering, every warning light I think must have come on just before. Alternator must be the culprit Surly.

The swivel balls look ok, but it’s the usual oil on the inside of the tyre , advisory on the mot as well.

Every landrover I’ve had these always leak oil, can you drain them and put some sort of grease in them instead. Thanks

When I start my 14 plate Defender first thing in the morning it takes longer than usual to start and the Engine light flickers slightly, once started it’s fine , it will fire up straight away and no sign of the Engine light at all , could it be a battery problem, I have put the optimate charger...

The tyres would be fine, they are BFG muds but someone put them on deep dish wheels which has pushed them out to far for my taste and everything they run over is splattered up the side all the time.

Can you get some wheel arches that are a bit wider than standard for a 90 Defender. The Spectre ones are to wide, I have some wheels and tyres that just come out past the arches. Thanks

No, I am sure the button used to light up when it was on as well, maybe no power is getting to it, if I mess about enough with it the park will come off and I can move the gear shifter again.

My 2014 sport park switch on the gear selector, the little silver one gets stuck in the park position and won’t let you select any gear, is this just a case of prising it out and replacing it or is there a lot more involved. Thanks

Jumped in the deep end today and brought a 2014 supercharged V8 sport petrol, getting it next week, and yes it will pas everything except a fuel station but I intend to enjoy it.

Thanks for the info, I must admit I have started to look at them, I was set on the Diesel but the petrol version looks much better and no doubt more fun. Thanks Chris
