I currently have the head off my disco 300tdi. I beleive the previous owner used a paddocks £10 head gasket:doh:... enough said.... While the head is off, are there any suggested modifications that could be made to aid oil flow or increase reliability? I have ported and polished heads before...

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll replace the one way valve and see where we go from there. I am so preying its not the head gasket. i have the mot due in feb, and may be tempted to not mot and tax it until it's done, which could end up being the middle of summer....Having no warm garage to do...

I have had overheating issues with my Disco 300tdi for some time, and just when i think it's all sorted, it kicks in again. I have replaced: Core plug Top Hose Water Pump Thermostat Radiator I have flushed, flushed and flushed again. I can't find any leaks now (core plug resolved that problem)...

I am pretty sure it already has been bumped to next week. It'll be good to see you again sir... BTW got the core plug done today. Just in time for snow fun.:D

I would have been up for the new year jaunt, but unfortunately have discovered the ongoing water issues have surfaced as a core plug failure. Of course it is the one behind the exhaust manifold..... Have a Happy New Year all....

From what I've seen the winch trays are good, but they mess up your 'approach angle'. Saying that, some of the winch bumpers do that on their own. What are other's opinions on the slimline style winch bumpers?
