Td5 goes nice but its getting all complicated again innit. V8 petrol if I was tempted to stay.

Much better on the road as a 2WD innit. And if you put bigger road tyres on it the handling is sweet as. Mine has 235/55/17's and I run mondo 70% of the time, mind you I don't go oorrff road.

V slow, in Discos I've driven. I believe the 300 is more refined but not much more power.

My Dad had a Rover 416 - went like the clappers for a 1.6. Cant swear to it but I think it said Honda on the cam covers! was this the same engine as our 1.8's?

You may be fine - I never had any luck with the kits so ended up buying one LR mech (cost sheds) and a pattern one (less sheds) but least you know its done. Best with it!

Ha ha, I bet it does! too many pumps and filters and pumps and filters etc for me. JM says the Beemers petrol engine is pretty bullet proof (if anything like my Passat, then will be happy) - and with what I have read, that's good nuf for me. Will, I hope you get it sorted or get shot of it...

I'm a confirmed petrol head and defo no turbos. LZ has put me off oil burners for life and its expensive and smelly:) BMW six pot 3 litre makes 220bhp with no turbo.

I give up! Mine will be for sale in the next month or so and appears to be a good one - I only say this cos its done 116k total, 46k with me and is still going strong. And I know I'm tempting fate. Reckon I'll be offered 950ish (again) in px or ebay if I can be arsed at the time:D
