Hi,
I have recently bought a td4 Freelander (2006)

I’ve recently tried fitting a aftermarket stereo into it but no luck, the power comes on but no sound?? But only two of the 3 plugs fit in?!

I’ve heard it’s something to do with the built in amp the Freelander has but I still can’t seem what to do.

I’ve got various different adapters from different aftermarket stereos but non seem to be working.

Any help will be appreciated

Do you have Harmon/Kardon setup? Look at the tweeters on the doors

If so you need to connect the amp feed from the headunit to the purple and yellow wire on the original wiring harness

Hi,
Yes it’s the Harmon kardon

Ok I’ll try that tomorrow thanks for the advice

Hi, still a little confused as I’m new to land rovers, here are the pictures of the plugs and lead I have, still unsure on the blue green and yellow plug.
Any advice is great

The green/blue/yellow connector is for the cd changer

One of those “spare” leads blue/white, green/blue or brown will be the amp trigger from the new head unit - look at the instructions

Just fitted new stereo to my Fl1 with same wiring as above, have same issue. How did you sort it out?

It's for the CD multichanger. An aftermarket HU can't use the multichanger, so you can ignore that plug.

Jak podłączyć radio do systemu Harman Kardon Navisys, żeby w głośnikach był dźwięk? Po podłączeniu nie ma dźwięku.

On my Son's FL1, we had to bypass the HK amplifier under the left seat. I mad a bypass plug to go into the loom, and then the aftermarket stereo feeds the speakers direct.

If the FL1 originally had the standard HK or Becker, then the head unit feeds to the amplifier are Line Level, but use the same pinout as aftermarket speaker outputs.

My bypass plug simply connects the 8-pin wiring from the head unit directly to the speakers. The under-seat amplifier is disconnected.

The connections required came from the attached diagram (which is on this forum somewhere).
