My car is a 2002 model without a facelift. The odometer reset button is not working. What could be the problem? I would be very grateful if there is a solution. Also, what is the purpose of the cable with the loose end that I have circled in red in the picture below? Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your reply. As far as I can see, this antenna is a normal copper cable. Should I replace it or modify it for a stronger signal?

Thank you for your reply. I unlock it with the remote and lock it with the key. Because when I lock it with the remote, I think the superlock engages and the car's alarm system activates. Then, even the slightest vibration or sound triggers the alarm. I've tried a few times, and I think it's the motion detection sensor inside the car, not the doors or hood, that's causing this. If you have any knowledge on this matter, I'd be interested in your thoughts.

No. It's a tuned antenna, meaning it's exactly the correct length for the frequency of the key fob transmitter. If you change the length, the range will reduce, not increase.
If range is shorter than it should be, replace the battery in the fob.

Thank you for your response regarding the antenna. Regarding the faulty switch, yesterday I sprayed the switch section with an oil-free electronic cleaner, and when I tried it today, the odometer button worked perfectly. I think I will postpone replacing the switch until a later date.
