I have just overhauled a diesel injector pump for my 1999 2.5 BMW diesel Range Rover and need a Timing solenoid ( which is located at the bottom of the rear f the pump) as the wires on the one i have are broken flush with the housing and cannot join new ones .I have looked online and cannot find anyone selling them so i wondered if anyone has one in their spares box that is willing to sell me.

the stop solenoid is on the top of the pump at the rear this solinid is at the base of the rear . the stop solinid has no wire coming out of it.

Sorry about that, I learn something everyday. I have always understood that the gubbins at the bottom was the stop solenoid, from memory the engine does not run with it disconnected but I could be wrong.

anyway the timing sensor is the one i need so if you have a spare one or know of any i would be gratfull if you would sell it to me but dont deprive yourself as they are hard to come by

Just a thought, is it not possible to scrape back and find the end of the connection, solder a wire on then then seal it with epoxy?
the wires are broken right where they go into the sensor i tried to scrape back but cannot get enough to solder on to i think they were trapped between the pump stabliser plate and the block here the plate bolts onto i found on mine the oil light wire was trapped there on mine but did manage to solder it. as you can see from the first photo there is nothing to solder to. but when i got time i might try to solder a couple of pins into the housing and then solder the wires oto them.this was a pump i was given and had mojour leaks so i stripped it right down and replaced all the seals and washers and freed up all moving parts and the solinoid wires were only hanging on by one strand on one of them which broke when i was removing the solinoid.
