Hi Guys, I need your help.

I am In Montenegro with my 2006 Freelander. In the past couple of weeks it puffed a bit of smoke while it changed gears. In the last couple of days it starting puffing a lot more and a local mechanic told me to add a bottle of Tunap to the fuel which I did. Almost immediately it started puffing out loads of black smoke - more so when I stuck my foot down. I got it a guy to run a diagnostic on it and it came up 'low air flow' and 'over pressurising' what ever that means (google translated him). He said that the EGR needs cleaning wich I did, but it still smoked.

I also had a check the injectors which were done Nov 2022 and they're in -2...+2 range. But obviously it's overfuellng. I've seen cars smoke before, but not like this.

It's now loosing power and the gear changes are not smooth. It smokes in low and high revs.

So guys, any ideas? Any help will be more that appreciated.

Thanks up front

My FR2 was doing the same...reduce engine performance..randomly..
Ended up a hole in my intercooler hose, I did the fuel filter as well and it was still black billowing smoke taking off....ended up being the MAP SENSOR...its on the air intake..oil had kikt bk up the air intake bit and ultimately grubbed up the sensor...bit of parts cleaner spray and she was running perfect!
