Changed the radius arm bushes on the drivers side to match the passenger side I did the other week.
Had to cut one of the bolts off as there was not chance it was coming out.
Went back together no problem which is good.
Britpart yellow polybushes so I dare say I will be doing it again next weekend.
I reckon the arms would need replacing to fit the original type due to rust where the bushes go. I'm thinking that's probably the downside of polybushes.
I fitted the original type bushes on my TD5, bit more work but better I think.
Also washed a massive pile of bird turd off the bonnet and wing, parked under the TV aerial, something wrong with them pigeons!

I had a session on the handbrake this morning. It's been getting less effective lately and as I suspected, oil has been getting inside from the transfer box. I'd got a new kit of shoes and springs so I put those on, and a new cable. I got a new seal and flange kit too, in the hope that it'll be a little more oil tight than the last one which has lasted a grand total of six months. The new drive flange was very stiff to force onto the splined output shaft, so I hope it doesn't need to come off anytime soon. However it's a little better formed than the last one and doesnt allow the propshaft bolts to rotate, because the shoulder presses firmly against their heads. I find it much easier to attach the shoes and springs to the backplate while it is off the vehicle and flat on the ground, then offer the whole lot up to the gearbox in one piece. All seems to be working for now.

If it’s anything like the stuff coming out of our pigeons, that’ll have taken a while. It’s like tarmac.

This is just one turd that missed me the other week when I was doing the passenger side! It was five times as bad when I washed it, luckily it had been raining during the week.
