Hi I know that this is likely a very simple question, but I have searched the web and the forum without any luck. Can you please tell me how the front side lights are meant to be earthed? Mine are earthed on the back of the wing using a small bolt that passes through the wing and the light fitting..

I hate electrics.. had another look and there is nothing earthed to the radiator panel.. it is ex army could they have done things differently do you think?!

I may be wrong but earth wires appear to lead back to the main harness and disappear through the bulkhead into the dashboard rats nest of wires.. So both sides and the headlights come on when the sides switched are switched and just the sides are on when the headlights are turned on! Tried a new light switch and indicator stalk without success...

Not for the first time on this forum, I have to admit that I’ve been an idiot. Wildefalcon was absolutely right — the switch was wired incorrectly. Thank you for your help!

This all started when I was replacing the indicator stalk (again) and must have accidentally connected to the wrong / spare spade on the switch. I still haven’t figured out the light earths yet, but that sounds like a problem for future Jack!

Thanks again Wildefalcon
