Hello,

I have notice I tad of a oil leak, on front of the engine, my first idea was the front cam shaft cover, however after another look I’m now unsure, does anyone have a idea what the source could be?

I’m just praying it’s not coming from the head!

Thanks in advance.

I would clean all the oil off, pop the camshaft cover out and seal it back up, costs nothing almost.
Then you can watch to see where the oil reappears.

Could the cam cover cause all of that oil?

Thanks David
Don't know but you will need to clean it all off first anyway so might aswell seal up the camshaft cover.
Mine produced quite a bit of oil when it leaked, depends on how long it's been leaking.

Hello it probably is your cam cover grommet as mentioned, but also your cam cover gasket and it could be tracking down the o rings which seals the injector harness plug ( easy to check )

I highly recommend a cleaning product for engine bay cleaning called (elbow grease xtra tough) literally got my engine bay looking like new again (TD5) and it’s safe to use as well, even my mechanic was impressed and it’s not easy for him to be haha!

UPDATE safe to say the following ****ing out of the front cam cover seal and the vacuum pump return.

I’ve ordered new seal, however the vacuum pump return, I have left this to the garage as it seems like a nightmare to do.
