revisited :) right i thought i would just come back and let everyone no what i have done :) so i changed the fallowing o rings on thermostat housing inlet manifold gasket alloy rad coolant cap here is what i found in the tiny coolant pipe that connects to the top of the rad...

Headgasket was done like 100 miles or so ago mate with FAI uprated mls headgasket with shim i can't see it being that as i have done loads of head gaskets not just on mg rovers but loads of different makes and never had a problem like this :( but i will try a few things before i give up

No mate it was a decent one :) but i have bled it again and noise disapeard but has returned again when she has cooled down

Thanks for the replys guys :) i wil try bleeding the system how its been suggested :) hope it aint water pump as i changed that along with headgasket but nope i always time the engine up with the head on so that the piston liners don't move but hopefully am getting the noise cause i haven't...

I will give that a try hippo :) And i have bled it from the bleed nut on the metal coolant rail which is connected to the thermo stat housing

Not sure really you can only hear the noise inside the car

Revisting this as i am not have anylook :( still got the annoying noise i have cleaned pipes and cooling system best i can i am going to replace thermo stat again and o rings on the housing along with inlet manifold gasket i have replaced expansion cap and she runs fine and doesn't over heat...

yeh mate look to be correct and its oe looks like it had a replacement oe matrix before i bought it as spares but the had the same problem of sloshing water thats why i replaced it thinking it was this but maybe its something else causing an air lock :(

well i would of thought it would be ok to use as the freelander is the 1.8 k series engine and the newer one is from a k series engine but thought i would check to make sure before i fit them to the landy :)

As title says really am changing the coolant temp sensors as i think they are faulty. My freelander 1 has a brown and blue plugs but my spares ones are blue and black and are from an mk2 mg zr could i still use them without any problem?? heres a pic cheers saul
