right ive fitted a second hand diff to my disco 200 tdi today. its 10 spline. all was going well until i tried to put the steering damped bracket back on to the diff and the bolts that came out of my old diff don't seem to fit. any idea what other sizes landrover used? ive tried a few from my...

i have a disco 200 tdi removed my front diff this afternoon and its well shot as there were 4 cogs fallen out. im after a second hand one. is it the same at the rear or does it have to be a front one? its 10 spline thanks

have just googled it and this looks better. i brought it from paddock spared online. to be honest it was late and i have ordered the wrong bit. cheers i will ring them tomorrow and see if i can change them

hum.. i did give it a try but looks like the shaft is part of the cv joint. i cant see it comes apart. the new one is pretty obvious a shaft need to go in it. but the new one look as if it is all as one. i may have the wrong part as i have looked online and the later type cv's look more like...

i have been busy repairing the damage to my swivel ball half shaft and CV joint. have fitted the ball and shaft, opend the box for the CV and its not the same it looks as if the half shaft will fit one end, and looks like a shaft is needed to go to the wheel. the CV i removed had a shaft going...

ive finally found some tim to strip down and inspect and it is definatly the CV that has failed. but there is also some pretty bad scoreing in the swivel ball so guess this is not so good and will need replacing? also the splines on my half shaft have been scored a bit so may be worth replacing...

lol thats mine in the "puddle". let my mate have a go he got it stuck. snapped the half shaft or cv. trying to get it out. plus all our camping stuff in the back got pretty soaked!

got recovered and it was a good call as just moving it around my drive was making a bad noise and i can now feel resistance in that wheel. will stip down and inspect at the weekend. thanks "jamesmartian" you have been very helpful on many of my posts.

yer the rear ones have hex bolts, so must be imperial. just thought it was strange that the fronts have bi hex so must be metric on the front?

those numbers you gave i guess they are part numbers? should be printed on caliper some where?

any one know if rear caliper bolts are hex, front caliper bolts are bi-hex, so is it definatly imperial on the rear?
