    Pool of engine oil on the drive! It looks like it is blowing out of the little pipe on the right hand front of the engine, which I believe is for vacuum oil draining. The rubber cap is missing which may mean nothing and may be a red herring. Should I look for leaks or could it be the more...

    Or you could do what I did. I bought a replacement gear wheel, totally unaware of the magnet and its function. I threw it away in the old gear and now my wiper starts up as soon as I turn the ignition key and, after several wipes, parks where it feels like parking. irritating

    In my experience, it is the propshaft centre bearings; only one in my case.

    L322 ignition won't turn and steering lock stuck on

    Charge the battery, mine did the same. As soon as I put it on charge, the steering lock came off allowing me to turn the key.

    How do you do. I have recently become the proud owner of a Freelander 1 and a Range Rover L322? I think. The one with the 3litre BMW engine and automatic gearbox, which I have just had reconditioned. I have found the posts on both forums most helpful but realise that I can't post anything myself...
