Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

Thanks for all the help guys, but it's time for me to put the kids to bed and cook my old man his tea. It's curry night! I'll look in again tomorrow and see if there are any other comments from you kind people. I also hope that a few glasses of wine and a good nights sleep will help with the...

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

Teflon - many thanks for your balanced advice. I've just had a quick look on Autotrader and there are a few 90's on there and, while they would do us ok if there was just the two of us, we have the baggage to consider too! Regards Theresa

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

Hi David I read somewhere that they slip on wet grass!! Aren't they just another 'Chelsea tractor' as odenne put it? Regards Theresa

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

odenne - clearance isn't really too much of a problem (except in the snow) as the track is regularly used by the shepherd and other farm workers. It is just hard on the suspension due to the generally uneven surface and the ruts and potholes. Regards Theresa

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

90boy - Is there any real difference between a Disco and a Defender underneath - you know suspension wise because they differ quite a lot on mpg according to a couple of sites I've looked at recently. Regards Theresa

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

90boy - Is there any real difference in the ability to handle rough terrain between the Defender and the Disco?

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

Hi guys - thanks for the replies. OK so I take the hint that you hold Freelanders in rather low regard. And as for the comment about a Nissan, yes we've been looking at the Terrano too. While I'd love to have a Defender (like I used to drive on the farm), I really can't afford the diesel...

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

Hi 90boy - thanks for the swift reply. Sadly tarmacing the track isn't an option as it cuts across farmland that we don't own. Seriously though, are you telling me that (if driven carefully not like in your pictures!!) the Freelander would fall apart after a couple of years? I mean, we've...

Can a Freelander handle my off-road house?

Hi Can anyone give me some advice? We live off-road, and when I say off-road I mean it. The track to our house is little more than a mile of really bad tractor track consisting of hard core, 3 cattle grids and pot holes. Over the 7 years of living here we have gone through a number of...
