You are just going to have to start at the beginning and check redo everything from the radius arm to chassis bush forward. Mark each bolt with paint to show any future movement. This includes stripping down the swivels and resetting the shims...
Im annoyed because I've got a genuine LR one acquired from the army many years ago and I've no idea where it's gone. The one I bought was 8 quid so hardly going to be outstanding quality but it's the last thing I can possibly change. Do you think...
Mud UK do good door cards for series and military doors. I've got them on both fronts and the rear and they look smart. Had them for years and they're still solid
Is anyone able to suggest anything more on this before i drive it into a wall - literally and figuratively. I've now replaced the steering damper and the rattle through the steering, which was getting much better and although hardly noticeable...
Don't fit series 3 latches, fit the anti burst type lift up handle latches used on military doors/later series. You'll obviously need to buy strikers too but they'll fit fine.
Never been able to find an actual figure with the seal and brake disc on, everyone I read is different. I even asked Britannica Restorations what figure he suggested for it and he said dunno as he's only ever done it on a vice without the disc...
.
Remove the front wheels, remove the track rod and drag links and using a set of luggage scales check how much it takes to pull the hub lock to lock. What that reading should be seems to be completely different for each motor but you're looking...
I wouldn't assume. Also they're really bloody awkward to get right, even Landy mechanics and experienced owners need to play about with it just to get them correct (Christ knows how they done them in the factory). But if I were you I'd double...
Unless his UJs are absolutely gubbed I can't see them having so much slack that he's got an inch of play either way. Like yours mine is spot, a slight movement of the steering wheel when driving translates directly to the wheels. If he had the...
Got in about it with a wire brush on the grinder mate. A few coats of paint and it looks great. The rust will come back though, but it’s way better than it was.
Did you paint the frame or fit a new one? Mine is rough, asked YRM if it's something they would consider doing and they said no not at the moment which seems a bit daft to me considering it always rusts to hell.
I bought quite a few rolls of this for doing my roof, sides, rear door etc... super cheap, super sticky and works really bloody well. The difference in noise before and after is noticeable and it's also made a huge difference in the insulation as...
Update on this. I've now replaced the radius arm bushes and panhard rod bushes with genuine pattern parts and while I think it does feel a bit smoother on the road I've still got the same issue, albeit I don't think as bad. Redid the swivel pin...
I reckon I may have found a big part of the issue. Removed the panhard rod and the bushes are completely degraded after only a few months so those will be getting replaced as will the radius arm bushes just to be sure
Checked the lift pump when I took it out the box and it's nice and strong, great suck and blow action which is what I like. The fuel lines are larger than standard, I replaced them all years ago. I might replace the fuel filter again and stick a...
Please help before I burn this thing. I had my Landy parked up for about 4 months and then I drove it for a little while then I started the rebuild. Prior to the lay up it was fine but since then and after the rebuild it has been shocking on...
It's not the a frame, and not quite a clonk. It's more of a click like something moves slightly at the front end but nothing is loose that I can see. This rattling through the steering has been happening since before the rebuild but the...
