What does diagnostics say? If there's some error codes, it'll most likely point you in the right direction.

I think the OP must have a particularly dodgy backbox. Cos when there's a major accident, the backboxes are always found intact and sent away to find out what went wrong.

I don’t think you need to remove the mirror it just pushes on provided the clips which are in the door are intact I think
