    Ok so you have a dodgy Foxwell. Have you tried live data on it? I have a Foxwell pro 520 and it has helped me out with stuff like this. Mine is set up to be able to work with the whole LR/Jaguar range. Is yours not?

    The short answer is "no". Take the time to ensure the air filter is clear of poop, but as @Anaconda has said, if this isn't a quick fix it may well mean getting a decent diagnostic. To get max power there needs to be enough fuel, enough air...

    Starter motor could also be full of mud disrupting the crank sensor reading for your non start problem. Mine was doing that.

    Yep, so you remove the oxidisation, but what is oxydised is the clear coat, or paint. You remove tiny amounts each time you do it but eventually it is possible to be killing it with kindness. If you don't have oxydisation, use simple wax type polish.

    If the whole flipping thing is covered in mud I'd start by carefully cleaning it all off. Especially the alternator. It might just be an intermittent short circuit orr a bit of mud cloggin a brush. I agree, I don't think it is the batt either.

    Modulator on the side of the distributor can fail miserably. I had this happen once going to work. Only until an auto electrician found the problem I too was left with scratch bonce.🥴
