I think you're right, so long as the spindle is pushing the wheel round, like on your car. Whereas, on the alternator the pulley is pushing the spindle. Pushbike pedals are another thing.. 🤪

There is only 1 output shaft from any gearbox. They change to 4wd drive with that fancy thing called a transfer box. There are many auto boxes used in 2 or 4 wd format. Your arguments show you shouldn’t be allowed to pickup a spanner. J
