An update on my defender issues. Ok it's passed its MOT, yeah! The diesel injection pump was sent to Diesel Bob along with all injectors. My mechanic wanted them checked based on the white smoke during over run. The pump was fixed, the injectors were knackered and were refurbed. Top guy...

Have just spoken with with Diesel Bob and it looks like the way to go. Fingers crossed, will update with what happens.

Thanks for the LR part number for the Bosch model number. Looking at my notes the leak is coming from around the throttle shaft if that makes sense. Unsure if this can be fixed in place or if it needs to be ripped out and recond'd. Thanks very much guys for all of your postings and...

Hi, As far as I know its not the lift pump its the diesel injection pump, linked to timing belts etc and apparently looks like a bitch to get out. :-) Wish it were and it was only going to cost 21+vat. Cheers Steve
