    Are you sure it isn't just sticky? You can take the "Land Rover" green oval off the handle then spray WD40 over the door opening and closing mechanism. So basically to the left as you are looking at it. This is what you have to do if it won't...

    If you except the Series for what it is then it's a good vehicle. A good original LWB Series 1 is a nice drive.

    It is a vehicle designed nearly 80 years ago based on the WW2 Jeep. Both are still one of the best off road. Not many other vehicles that have their base from that era still in use today. Long live the Series.

    Has it had a replacement screen fitted since it packed up? There is a module in the steering column for the wheel switches, but if other stalks/buttons are working, doubt it’s that.

    Thanks for tagging me, I might find out why my automatic wipers don't work. What I'd like to know is, can they be configured by diagnostics to operate as good old intermitted rather than automatic - cos automatic is pants.

    The retaining screw is to ground the receiver against possible electromagnetic interference, the item’s functional earth is within the loom, possibly a black wire.

    Battery neg clamp was goosed I found a heavy duty clamp in halfrauds (not exactly brilliant but it would do) Hacksawed the old clamp off, and the new one was snug as a bug in a rug, sorted.
