Battery neg clamp was goosed
I found a heavy duty clamp in halfrauds (not exactly brilliant but it would do)
Hacksawed the old clamp off, and the new one was snug as a bug in a rug, sorted.

Owned my D2 for over 17 years and sold it over 3 years ago as it was starting to annoy with its persistent leaks.
I regrated selling it the moment it was driven away, and still do. 😢
If it was me I'd take the pipe in question off and take it to a specialist pipe company, who would make one up for you for not much money. Using the same fittings.

Thank you for your advice. I would like to keep it but I don't have unlimited funds and time, hence reaching out for advice. Apart from the ACE issues, which when it works is great, there are no other issues.
Thanks for pointing that out, it would have been helpful ! For its age its in average condition , no dents, some scratches but nothing major. I am at a watershed moment, as I can't find a reliable garage to repair the leaks and vibration issues...
I can only see relay 7 as an ignition relay which feeds the CJB (passenger footwell).
Relay 8 is the fast/slow wiper relay, Relay 11 is wiper on/off.
Pins 1& 2 at the motor should be power but they are switched from the relay so you may have to...

If there's no charge controller between the solar panel and battery, the voltage will climb high enough to boil the battery.
Even a cheap Chinese £10 charge controller will prevent battery damage...
