Cheers Phil. Yes the other won’t go anywhere. I’m not getting the time to shooting anyway which is what this was destined for and will borrow mrs pick-up when I need.
Yes - love the older land rovers and would like it to go to someone who will...
Hi all, this is now in the for sales section. I’d like to keep it but I want a dream daily and can’t justify keeping this and my other one.
You can see I’ve addressed all the D1 issues - I’d really like one of you to buy it so it doesn’t end up...
Hi all,
I’m a long standing member on here and have tidied up a D1 commercial over the past year or so with decent money spent.
I now wish to buy my dream daily as not doing mad miles anymore and can’t justify two landies.
If you know d1s you...
Hi Russell, I’m going to list mine as going to sell up to get my dream car. It’s manual and high mileage but has had a lot of attention in the last year! 12 months mot too
Next, I should have spent the time fitting the two alpine windows, but as the rear body upper sides have been sitting here for a while, I thought that I would move on to them instead. If I fit them on the Landy, then they are less likely to get...
I had the roof prepped and painted in the original white before Christmas and hadn’t been able to do anything with it until now.
When I stripped the tropical roof skin off, I found some of the spacers that give you the gap between the two roofs...
Been under a pig today 😂
Yes she’s had all the boot floor etc done but this was some time ago now. I’ve found a little bit of chassis by the fuel cradle bracket that I’ll chop out at some point.

The bolts and bushes typically need a lot of force to move them - a lot more than you'd usually need for Alfa Romeo maintenance, anyway. I've got a hydraulic press with a dial on it and it is not unusual to see 10 or 15 tons needed to shift...
Just thought, the original bushes in your bars are probably metalistic - I.e. there will be a metal bushing in your bush hole that needs to come out. I’m sure there’s a cleaner way but I slit this with hacksaw blade then carefully chisel out...
😂 the lengths we go to.
I managed to get a stubby on my defender one. My disco one wouldn’t allow it though!!
I just slit it and wack round with a chisel - was much easier!
Powerflex are good - bought them for my project and will be installing...
More progress (week off!).
The inside sill is going to get a fish plate over the joint as it’s right next to the mount.
Starting to come together and look new
Offside had been repaired but only finished in primer. The result was it was rusty and the repair around the bottom wasn’t too nice most of it was usable. I cut out what I didn’t like which also gave me access to epoxy the mount area.
Lots of...
That’s good news. Shout up before you think of selling! Especially as I wouldn’t let anyone else buy it other than me 😂
If you get stuck with it also shout.
My progress has been a bit slow but getting back into it now!
More alignment work. What a tricky job that was.
I made a z plate for the rear floor and rivnutted the seat nuts in.
From there it got tricky! You can see why. You’d think the z plate was bent. It wasn’t - the floor rise was.
So I made a...
