    Galv chassis.

I paid £620 for mine (holes were not cleared of excess galv), but had to travel over 100 miles to get it trailered back! Anyway, it's underneath it now...

    Series IIA 88inch Driveablility

Well it's good to hear of other one's going at a reasonable speed! I've ditched the initial 02pm07 username for good as my old remoteranger login works fine again :) I've got a website on the go for the rebuild, anyone interested might want to drop by? GreenLandRoverRebuild - Green LandRover...

    Slipping clutch

Is the problem a slipping clutch or something that doesn't fit?! If it's a slipping clutch I would replace slave/master cylinders, which failing a new mainshaft seal which is major work :( I don't have a clue about the different types of conversions - having Land Rover standard matches are...

    Alternator mounting brackets?!

Cheers - that does sound about right I think. If that's the case, maybe I could make one....?

    Alternator mounting brackets?!

Well well, Time flies by! At the wiring stage now in the rebuild - and I'm changing from dynamo to alternator. Got a complete brand new wiring loom with all the associated stuff which includes the conversion kit from Autosparks - and a brand new series alternator from Paddocks. Has anyone...

    Most suitable jacking points?

Pretty much always the bottom spring plates for me (making sure the vehicle is chocked) - just make doubly sure it's firmly secured as you don't really want it rolling back off the trolley jack if that's what you're using!

Cheers! Trust me, at this rate about 75% of the vehicle is new as I keep on replacing bits that I reckon might go wrong - I need to stop sometime soon as I'll be brought to a sudden stop because of lack of £ :D I just wish you were a lot closer because that bulkhead needs a power more work...

Hi andrewsetchfield, I had a look inside the Dis. Cap today and I think the contacts are pretty filthy with some sort of buildup of grey stuff. Starter motor sort of starts, turns engine over but sometimes stops = possibly the lack of battery power. I doubt if the spark plugs are in great shape...

Very true, thanks for roping him in :D No escape! Some things to go on, will take me a bit of time to find suppliers but should be worth it.

Arrgh - always seem to have at least a couple of dead land rovers around the place :D. Was working fine before being taken off the road, that's the annoying thing... Yeah, if only time could be put aside for these things!

Have to say I'm more used to Series 2's not these high tech 110's! :) Thanks, who knows the man himself might take a look in at this thread... I'm just suprised that there's not more V8 owners out there - I mean I'm only on the extremely basic checks as well for someone completely clueless...

Hi all, I'm wanting to get a 3.5 v8 landrover started! Yes, as simple as that :D Ok, once I get my battery charger back here I can really give it a go. Starter motor comes on fine and whirls quite the thing. Fuel pump ticks nicely. No wires dropped out of the coil (just the 3 wires in?!), Has...
