had headgasket replaced on my 4.0 se, done about 700miles and i believe has gone again! just after some suggestions on what to do, re-con engine (any ideas on how much this would set me back??) or break the car and see if can get some of money back, has got 20" land rover wheels with good...

thanks ratty, how do i diagnose slipped liner or cracked head?

The heads were skimmed, would there be any other underlying problem which would cause car to go through head gaskets?

i had the head gaskets replaced last month, unfortunatley did not get any warranty on repairs, would there be a reason why they have gone again already or just a crap job? cheers

came across some stuff called "Steel Seal" it claims to be able to fix HGF without any diassembly, has anyone tried this or am i just being a mug even looking at the stuff? any input would be much appreciated

hi just wondering if anyone could tell me which fuse it is for the washer jets? have looked in manual and it doesnt state which one it is? got mot at 3 so need it sorted asap

sorry whats the eka? no i didnt do it myself a mechanic friend of mine did and he has checked all connections ect

the message centre bit just says windows not set, the "check engine" light comes. im baffled because started fine before head gasket replaced

the engine management ones? or the bigger maxi fuse?

sorry im a bit of a newb, what do you mean by the main fuse? i tried relay earlier no joy

oh yeh and yes it is petrol

its 97, batterys fine radio lights everything like that works

hi all, just had the headgasket done on my p38, now the damn thing wont start. theres nothing there at all when turn the key just a slight click and check engine light comes on? is there anything obvious and easy to fix i should check before phoning the garage?

hi all finally got my headgaskets fitted, now the damn thing wont start! theres nothing there when you turn the key? doesnt even try cranking and check engine light is on? i imagine this means it could be anything!
