Try removing the small door handle surround from the offending door. If you look at the door pull cable at the end of the door handle it should be straight. us steering columns sell for around £200 due to this problem. working 2nd hand ones for around £595 and uprated 2006+ columns for around £1250 so you would have to consider yourself very lucky to find one that someone is giving away!

Stick with the 3.0TD6. We have a waiting list for the 3.6 TDV8 engines - speaks volumes to us as they must be rubbish! Same goes with the Sport 2.7. Not sure why tho. My 4.4 Overfinch V8 was returning over 23mpg around town. Current TD6 is just under 20mpg. V8 all the way....

You can remove the door cards without opening the door but it is a pain... just cannot figure out why the bloody things wont release!

Hello Dougie, the remote flashes but nothing happens. If you put the key into the ignition and turn you get the usual messages re engine disabled, press remote etc. Cant see how you are to put an EKA in if the door lock doesnt turn...?
