Step-1: Buy the DC Clamp meter recommended by Alibro above.
Step-2: Don't try putting a multimeter in-line with the battery feed unless you know what you're doing. Use the clamp meter & note the value after the car is off & locked for at...
err . . actually three causes.
1. Its either that the valve is actually stuck closed.
2. Or its a faulty height sensor & ECU confuses the reason
3. Or intermittent connection in the driver pack connector, i.e. if the driver pack cannot trigger...
The "approximately a year old" comment from the seller probably means someone cleaned the battery to make it look newer !!
+1 do the simple overnight voltage check above with the battery disconnected. Also getting Halfords to check its...
@James Brake as others have said rebuild or replace with another 1.8 is the easiest approach. Then sort the IRD & Prop, etc. A donor car would help you a lot & potentially provide many bits you're gonna need or break off-road.

ok I stand corrected. I do wonder how it would behave if the disco sensors did provide pulses, especially if the front & rerar rate per revolution were different ? I guess the ABS/TCS would treat it as spinning or slipping wheels - a bit...
Wrong number of pulses would make the speedo wrong, plus front & rear wheel mismatch. ABS fault implies the sensor cannot see the reluctor.
Definitely. Supplier might have swapped them for P38 version if they were unused, but probably not...
Check the connector underneath the valve block. The connector body may appear tight, but the socket contacts open up slightly over time due to heat & cold cycles in the engine bay. Intermittent connections will cause "valve stuck" faults when...
Just to add to this, if the engine is on 122000 do the basics before anything like ECU mods, i.e. Replace main & big end bearings, piston rings, etc. Clean up & relap the valves. Look at a mild tune cam (which should not require ECU mods)...
Does anyone know what resistance I should get across the rail sensor terminals ?
Our old sensor measures about 130Kohm across the two outer terminals. The new replacement we got from eBay measures >> 3Mohm which seems wrong. I still get...
Headliner map pocket formers. Helps get the headlining properly into the recess.
If anyone wants these they are going free. Either collection in Langley, or you pay postage.

Was I'm getting the same P1190 fault on my son's 2004 TD4 Auto at high load. Previously the car was smoking a lot all the time , even at tickover so did this lot.
Cleaned injectors.
EGR bypass fitted plus cleaned out turbo pipes &...
You have already changed plugs & leads, but try the coils flip anyway. Then clean get a DIY injector cleaning kit & clean the injectors. It's quite easy & that way you will know if one is bad.
If you had a location (town name) someone...
Which ECU is fitted ?? Unless someone has messed with the wiring, it should not be possible to fit the wrong type.
Also are you using the correct Nanocom menu ?
TRW MPS (TYPE 1)
TRW SPS (TYPE 1)
Fired up the green P38 for the first time in several weeks. EAS went straight up to correct height. Loaded up some garage rubbish, cardboard, an old freezer & load of empty beer cans, and off to local household waste centre.
What bugs me is...
It needs old fashioned engine basics rather the repeated diagnostics, i.e.
Clean or better still replace spark plugs
Test injector spray pattern & clean them. It's easy DIY using a kit like this https://ebay.us/m/cNgk6I

According to Mark_C on rr.net L322 section, all the immobiliser does is prevent the key turning & starter engaging. If that's true then sort the fuelling first !! https://www.rangerovers.net/posts/2209790/ But other threads say it stops...
They probably make more money doing immobiliser stuff than fuel regulators & pumps !!
Fuel pressure codes are just a clue something is wrong. The diagnostic should also show the actual pressure values.
