Having read the other posts hear i decided to try the camping mat route for the inside roof lining of my 90. As they were on sale in my local sainsbury's at £3 each i bought 5 and this has been plenty. I will be covering them with acoustic carpet so being bright blue doesn't matter too much...

Update on the problem i was having. Now fixed(i think). On Christmas eve i decided to just try bleeding the clutch fluid, and see what state i was in, well it was black, it appears the previous owner had simply topped up the clutch fluid before he sold it to me, as the last bit of fluid that...

my dads 110 v8 is fitted with the fairey overdrive system, and recently the link rod within it broke at one end.He ended having to buy a complete new gearbox in order to replace it. Does anyone know of another solution for future if this one goes?

I am using a combination of aluminum back camping mats(very cheap at the moment) and aluminum backed roof flashing which is basically bichamin sheets on a roll. Got the roof flashing (which is adhesive on one side so no need to buy spray glue) from Wickes, 15 metre roll about 50cm wide was £20...

Thanks everyone that has suggested things to check, i'm going down the route of checking the clutch release arm first and will report back with the findings. Can anyone recommend a how too guide for changing it.

Ultimately i am looking at doing a 200tdi conversion,does anyone know if i would have to change the clutch to do this, if so the transplant may have to be brought forward as i don't want to be taking the clutch out twice.

After reading about other peoples similar problems, that was the conclusion i was slowly coming round to.i am reasonably handy with a set of spanners, is it a difficult job?

Clutch fluid is fine, and hasn't moved in level over the period the gear change has got worse. tonight on the drive home from work, even with the clutch fully pressed in it was biting and i was moving forward, dont know if this helps at all with any suggestions.:confused:
