I’ve checked my hubs and I appear to have correct bearings at the rear inner
but they still won’t fit tight to the back plate
They can’t be right bearings as they don’t fit deep enough in the hub
I’ve recently cleaned painted my hubs and changed the bearings with Timken bearings and new seals to find that they don’t slide over the stub axel!
Stub axle is nearly 0.5 mm bigger than the bearings!
Has anyone had problems with this in the past?
thanks
Guys,
Thanks for the reply's I'll have a go! and just to confirm, that is it best to go to land rover for the seal? or would a Bermach or Equal do?
Thanks again
Has anyone got any experience or know someone in the Manchester area / NW who could change an pinion seal on a axel?? I've got limited experience / tools
Any comments / advice is appreciated
Thanks James
Thanks for the reply, I have heard that some Pro C's shocks rust within the gaiter!? If I was going for the standard shocks, then I was thinking Monroe! But it just comes down to money in the end!
Cheers! I'm planning on getting my bulkhead galvanised (trying to do a proper job to eliminate rust issues! I'm having trouble removing the rear tub and seat box due to seized bolts!
