I’m trying to re-attach the exhaust manifold on my 1991 200 tdi. How should I get the not onto the stud that is underneath the manifold, in the centre? I have tried using blutack to keep the nut in a long 17mm socket and feeling my way in, but can’t get it onto the thread.

I’m sure they went on right, they come in different boxes properly labelled, so I would have had to make a positive effort to mix them up. Springs and shocks are packaged together.

I recently replaced the 2" lift shocks and spring (front and back) on my 1991 200tdi with the new Terrafirma units. It's a standard 200tdi Defender engine in a 1990 Defender. If there is no 'standard' layout, then fair enough, but I've only got one to judge it by.

Does anyone have a picture of how the 200tdi engine compartment should look? I've done something wrong, and now It's extremely difficult to use the oil dipstick, because of the intercooler hoses. All the pre-existing bends and pipes seem to be in the right place, i.e. where they fall naturally...

Me too. I know the size of the tank, and I know the milage, so I can get 450 miles on a tank. The gauge is just an indication, as far as I'm concerned.

It's hard to get accurate numbers, but from what I understand the LR engine/gearbox/fuel/exhaust system weighs about 350kg, and the Leaf system including batteries weighs about 350kg. Happy to receive more accurate information. A new Leaf weighs 1500kg. Kerb weight of a 110 is about 1800kg. So...

I'm looking to the future. I may not believe the eco BS (how many SUV's did the Neanderthals have to drive to end the last Ice Age?), but people in power do, so I think the days of a dirty diesel are limited. It's going to become impossible to drive the thing, probably due to the taxes on fuel...

I am interested in converting my 1990 200tdi to an electric version. However, I have no interest in the £80k versions that give you a 0-60 time of five seconds, and so on. That wasn't what I was looking for when I bought a Defender. The 200tdi originally delivered 109hp and 188lb.ft of torque...

Defender 110, hence where I'm posting. 1991 200tdi. Metal. Because that's the area where the fuel is concentrated after I've wiped it clean and driven round a while. That's why I wanted the exploded drawings from the parts catalogues that were so kindly posted at the beginning of this thread...

In specifics then...Pages 518-579 of the110 book that is posted so kindly at the beginning of this sticky. I have a leak at the front of my fuel tank, probably related to rubber washers on the bolts clamping it to the chassis, but can't find the drawings of what it should look like.
