Since I bought my 1990 Range Rover Classic 3.9 EFI Estate I've been filling it with Esso Supreme-99 Octane fuel, but is it actually mandatory to do that, or is Regular-95 fine? It runs great with Supreme and has plenty o' power so I'll probably keep filling with that, but I'd be interested to...

Well looks like we got a tach again! God knows how but since I disconnected the battery and reconnected it the tach has started working great. If she wants to fix herself, I ain't going to complain. Maybe she'll change her own oil too....

Well after posting that I took the battery out, put it on charge until it was 100%, and left it. Today I connected it up and low and behold it was sluggish again. Must be a bad battery. I'll get another one soon. I hate it when that happens. Can't they make things right these days!??

In my 1990 RRC Vogue I have a brand new Varta battery fitted and it starts nice and quickly under normal day to day driving conditions, but if I leave the RR for more than a few days parked up it is sluggish to start. It never fails to start, but acts like the battery is old, which it is not...

I don't want to insult you, but did you check the battery has charge ? If it has been disconnected for a while it could have a dead cell, or simply be a bit flat.

I've never heard of Swissol, but have heard of, and used Zymol. I used their Creame Wax, which is about 50 Quid a pop, cheaper than what I currently use, but I didn't find it left such a good finish.
