So i have a set of brand new discovery 1 V8 springs kicking around and the springs on my 1990 110 are very tired. what i want to know is a, will they fit and b, will they be able to cope with the weight of the v8 defender?

thanks guys. i am just looking for a cheap lhd defender as i livce in the middle east and even old ones are still big bux. shipping one out here is actually only a few hundred quid hence looking to either a rhd one
no, i fitted a much newer dash from the scrap yard and that was fine. looking at the circuit on the back of the old one it was very tired and brittle so i am guessing an issue there. anyway all the leds are in now and the dash looks great so happy days.
so would disconnecting the battery putting the lamps in then turning it on have given a different response? if someone could explain what happened then understanding it would probably go a long way to me not making the same mistake again. All i was doing was takeing out the old tiny dash lamp...

Ok Maybe my fault or not but, i was replacing the discos dash lamps with leds whilst it was live. I was doing this to see if i had the led in the correct way round. All of a sudden clouds of smoke which turned out to be the circuit wires melting on the back of the dash panel.

Ok maybe stupid question but i got a 1987 110 with a very dead engine, but i got a cheap good 3.9 v8 with an autobox. How easy would it be to swap the engines and what are the tricky bits.

Thanks but as usual i've been and idiot, its the rubber / felt seal that sits in the window frame that keeps the glass from rattleing that i am after. DOH!
