    Off road extreme freelander...

How did I know it was going to be something like that? That pic is so old! I had a tiny hope that it would actually be an extreme Freelander. ;)

Should I get a lift kit?

More than a bit illegal and impractical me thinks!

Broken rear window mech on my Gaylander

Had mine done with the more expensive £30 ones with the nipple fixed on already as some you have to glue it on. It seems ok now. Getting the tension sorted seems to be the key on these things. Still, even if it lasts only for a while it's way cheaper than a whole unit.

    Brake upgrades

I have done a search on this (lets get the usual old chestnuts out of the way  and before anyone suggests them, I do not want to set fire to it either or smash it into something to stop it!) and not found much of use. I take it that the whole range of Hippos have the same brakes? Has...

    bellypan removal?

I'm sure my old 1.8 had a metal cover. If so why do the later ones have plastic items? Cheapness. If the early ones are metal, would it fit straight on a later model?

Should I get a lift kit?

I like that. With the 15's on and large tyres, it doesn't look under wheeled at all. It looks very purposeful. Can you not just get a custom exhaust company to make you a much smaller rear box?

Do you use veggie oil in your TD4?

I have read on here that is a definite no no, so no!

Rear window not waiting in the down position when opening the door.

The handle is brand new and comes complete with micro switch. Where is the CCU? Any idea of cost for a replacment? Thanks

Rear window not waiting in the down position when opening the door.

In all other aspects the window is working perfectly, just tried opening it with the fob and then closing it with the key and all this was fine. Usually with these connectors for things, the connector can only be pushed in one way anyway. I don't think it's that. As said before it all works as...

Rear window not waiting in the down position when opening the door.

I have done a search on this but not found anything simular in the back door problems department. I have just had a new back door handle put on as mine was broken and now the window does not stay in the down postion when the door is open. It just pops back up meaning that you have to hold the...

    Rear door lock removal

Nope! :o Yes I do mean the tailgate handle. Sounds easy if there is just a big nut. It's just that the Haynes didn't explain anything, like it was a LR dealer job only.

    Rear door lock removal

Hi all. I have done a search on this and found nothing so here goes. My rear handle is broken, no spring in it's return postion so it is a bugger to shut and means the glass has conflicts with the shutting mecanism. Anyway I have bought a new handle,. I am just waiting for it to arrive. I have...

    An open letter to Austen

Temperature was something that was mentioned earlier on and in another thread. Parts like this when they get hot, don't dissapate heat that quickly. However after being scared by most of the postings on here (maybe needlessly?) about VCU's. I decided after two runs to get underneath after the...

    Freelander 1 Impressive

Ah don't sweat it guys. It could be worse. You could be driving a car where the boot floor, rear cross members, sills, inner and outer!, inner front arches and bulkhead rot out! :D Did I miss anything Disco boys?
