    Headlight issues

Currently I have original sealed unit Lucas headlights, all good, until the drivers side gave up the ghost. Tested the unit with the meter, and it's dead. So, do I try to find a replacement, or upgrade to halogen, or go halogen housing with LED bulb, or go full LED? What have others done /...

    door removal

Once you have access to the holes in the bulkhead, spray in a load of fishoil or similar. Also copper grease the new captive nuts, and replace the screws with stainless, makes it a lot easier for the future.

Loss of power going up hills

Once you get the comp gauge if you find one cylinder is down, I think you can put a few drops of oil down the spark plug hole to form a temporary seal for a potential ring problem, and the gauge should read higher again.

Loss of power going up hills

Mine did this on hills, found a cracked exhaust valve. until you get your compression gauge, with the engine running, take a plug lead off, listen for a change in the engine sound, re fit the lead, then try the next one. If you find taking a lead off doesn't alter the engine sound, then there is...

About your radiator, you can fix it by snipping the damaged tube, then get a nail and enlarge either end of the tube, then get some knead it (an epoxy putty) and put some in each tube, then pinch the tube closed. This will stop the leak, and the efficiency of the rad will still be ok.

    Issues with Galvanised Chassis

Any holes you did have to drill out could be sprayed with cold galv as protection, as Landraver says you don't usually get rust around bolts (unless you doing something silly like launching boats into the sea!)

    Wheels on my S3

Hey I have 245 70 16s on disco 1 steels and I've found them fine, dont rub on the stops, fill the arches nicely and are flush with the wings. Used to have 235 85 16's, and found the slightly less tall tires gives better torque off road / better on the hills.
