Get a V8 110 of an 85 landrover.(if you need a reg number to order I can give you mine) . same shape as the facet(barrel type) and a lot cheaper.
Mounted mine in the engine bay by the brake servo. I do forget to turn it on some days & it still...
I got a standard cheap one from Amazon, £16 I think? I needed quick delivery as it was purely for a test. But it works! I’m going to eventually get a facet style one off eBay as lynall suggested and chassis mounting it. Probably will have to be...
Nylon hoses replaced with black rubber fuel rated hose. Didn't go for clear as it was running fine with the nylon lines
I did the diesel supply test last time it did this (before the recon pump) and didn't really point us in any direction, will...
On another note, it ran spot on up until yesterday where I replaced the leak off pipes and the nylon fuel pipes from lift pump to filter, filter to lift pump.
I should have stuck to if it ain’t broke don’t fix it 🥲
I’ll give that a go next time I’m on it
I’ve noticed that the lift pumps seem to get worse and then occasionally you get a good one which is why I’m just going to bypass it next time. PTFE tape on the threads is a good idea I shall be doing...
Yeah, though the injection pump is within warranty, its still a right hassle.
if i whip the injection pump pipe off and take the solenoid wire off, then give it a crank, not a lot of fuel reaches it
resurrecting this thread because its done it again.
Here is the up to date list of jobs I have completed.
- Recon injection pump
- Timing adjustment (it was well out somehow)
After these two, it drove spot on for a long time with the...
Looking to replace all the nylon fuel lines on my 200.
does anyone know what internal diameter hose I need?
going to do leak off pipes on injectors,
lift pump pipes
fuel filter pipes
and any others I've missed?
TIA.
I gave it a start today after some tweaks (no joy) and that area had a slight hiss like it wasn't sealed correctly.
that will be my next job, which I am absolutely not looking forward to
Not immediately after, probably a month or two, but this month is the first time it’s actually been driven on the road, not sat on the drive without a mot.
previous owner of this engine has definitely messed with the pump, rolled coal like nothing I've ever see before when I put it in mine and got it running.
I read somewhere that the removal of the stop start solenoid and it having swarf on would...
yeah thats the point im getting to, im running out of ideas that isn't the injection pump. Funnily enough when i loosen that bleed screw ever so slightly to the point it dribbles out air/diesel. Runs sweet as it ever has. Not exactly...
Haven’t actually seen it leak out though, no visible patch on the floor, it just looks like it has been leaking at some point, could have even been a dried up patch from when I was fault finding before. Didn’t write that quite well in the post...
As title suggests, I’m getting what I think to be air in the fuel system and it’s puzzling me.
It’ll drive for a good while, and then when I come to a stop / idle / engage the clutch, the revs drop below idle and it runs lumpy (like the previous...
