So, picked her up yesterday, went to a expidition vehicle meet up with the mechanic and some friends and some others. I felt poor for a sec, between people having a private warehouse twice the size of our not small house next to there villa, for...
the leads were changed with new ones when I made the data diagnostic , I just swap the leads 1-6 connectors at the coil side not at the plug side. so for me the coil is faulty not the new leads.
I believe that an electric problem occurred on that...
FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!
I followed my instinct and swapped the leads on the coil side cyl 1 and 6 that suppose to fire at the same time, and the roughness moved to the cyl 6!
the coil is shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only at the coil outpout 1

What are the fuel trims showing?
Do they have a post cat lambda sensor?
What are the lambda sensors showing on the diag?
Regular wave patterns or flat patterns when the engine is upto temp?
Fitted the new exhaust yesterday. I went for one of the £335 ‘sports’ ones you can find on eBay. I must say I’m overall extremely impressed with the welding and it fit beautifully, something I wasn’t sure would happen.
Sound wise there’s an...
Which ECU is fitted ?? Unless someone has messed with the wiring, it should not be possible to fit the wrong type.
Also are you using the correct Nanocom menu ?
TRW MPS (TYPE 1)
TRW SPS (TYPE 1)
Next step for me would be to check out the wiring using a DVM. DO NOT connect the DVM to any airbag. With the circuit unplugged, a loop back test can be performed on each airbag circuit to the ECU for continuity and also the front crash...
Solved! Thanks a bunch.
I just altered those screws a few times. It’s not 100% but it shuts normal now. I’m not going to even entertain the idea of toying with it. I’m just chuffed that it’s now fixed and my car is whole again.
Hi everyone! I have finished replacing the driver's door lock. I also replaced the plastic parts of the front doors, STC3063 and -64. Contrary to the instructions, I did not assemble the parts with a spring tensioner, but tightened the shorter...
As said it's a wasted spark system, it will spark down 2 leads at the same time. Normally when a coil goes it will impact both cylinders not one.
I would suggest the coil is working fine at this point.
It could be a dodgy injector, but i would...
It needs old fashioned engine basics rather the repeated diagnostics, i.e.
Clean or better still replace spark plugs
Test injector spray pattern & clean them. It's easy DIY using a kit like this https://ebay.us/m/cNgk6I

Fired up the green P38 for the first time in several weeks. EAS went straight up to correct height. Loaded up some garage rubbish, cardboard, an old freezer & load of empty beer cans, and off to local household waste centre.
What bugs me is...
Didn't do anything with her today *yet*, might just be able to pick her up this afternoon so if everything works out on my end, the car is finishes with loaner SUs! Really looking forwars to it, as is, surprisingly, the whole family including my...
Hi Guys,
Thank you all for your input with my issue.
It’s parked up awaiting a specialist to have a look at noise but not till July 16th 🙄😩 Once I get the final diagnosis I will let you all know ..
Appreciate all the help 🙏🏽
Too many things showing open circuit there, have you checked the connector at the SRS ECU? Also check the OBD connector for corrosion which may be interfering with communication.
As a rule, all the airbag sensors get corrosion in the plugs as most 38's take on water... Cut the plugs and hard wire them with either solder or good butt connectors. Its rare the actual airbags fail.
Once done clear the faults and go from...
