    Just been checking engine/chassis numbers on my series 2a and realised I have the later 2495 not a 2&1/4, engine no.....17H117220. Does any one no if this will run ok on unleaded

    So it's all making sense now, tried it again tonight but this time pushed hard into 2wd and it was ok maybe just wast force full enough .if a bolt is loose do you have to remove the box to gain access

    Well, made up new linkage for a rebuilt zenith carb, (took off a badly fitted twin choke webber )and drove it up and down road today. First time in 5 years, engine run lovely but when I stopped to turn round I couldn't engage any gears, I could hear the shaft turning inside box but not props. I...

    Been working on it this morning still no spark, then while tracing and cleaning all wiring I found a cut out switch(Derrr) her presto 1st turn of key and it burst into life apparently 1st time in 4 years, and it runs so sweet, keep you posted on progress

    Thanks for all the feed back, basically lucas dizzy complete , Lucas coil and leads all new and plugs. I thought a cheats way just renew all and "plug in".will check gaps, timing etc weekend

    Hi Tottot thanks for your reply, well lights hooter wipers all work so am thinking earth must be ok, next job weekend I think trace back all electrics and clean up. Will post some pictures soon , chassis and body work are mint for 44 year old
