Did you pull the axles/fluid out too?

Looks like YRM have the right part and can ship to the US, so thanks for the tip. Obviously I am getting a pair, the right side doesn't look anywhere near as bad but seems like a good thing to do in pairs. Presumably this isn't going to be as easy as just grinding off the old and welding on...

So I just checked mine and it's the same - I found the Valeo brand on it. I am thinking maybe just tracking down a new solenoid for the Valeo and just swap that out?

That was my next question, how can I tell? It looks like a Valeo based on the solenoid design and that it has the two long studs that go through the starter casing to hold it in place. The armature and piston that controls the pinion position moves nice and easy and I'm wondering whether just a...

So this is my question really. The starter is out already and partially stripped (just took the solenoid off so I could check that out). My preference would be to send it out but does anyone know of a company that works on these?

Haha I think removing the front crossmember seems to be the easiest option so far!!

It's absolutely fine at the turbo end. It's where I bolting my intermediate pipe to it. The old intermediate pipe that came off basically moulded itself to the end of the front pipe and made the end face really varied. So when I just can't get a good seal all the way around the joint.

Hey guys I am waking this thread back up if that's ok! I just replaced the exhaust from the front pipe back but the front pipe face was so... unique... that it's not making a good seal. I tried a bit of wiggling just to test if I could contort it out but no luck. So regarding this front cross...

It's been a while, so I thought I would post an update. Since removing the solenoid, I have put plenty of miles on the Land Rover with no issues - even some really cold temp days and some longer drives. So I believe I can put this one to bed for now! Only thing I want to do is chase the cables...
