This stuff. I got it at The Spray Store in Motherwell. They recommended 2.5ltrs for the 90 at a 2:1 mix with standard thinners for spraying. £70 inc the vat.
Done the front propshaft UJs and refitted it then sealed a leak (hopefully) on the transfer box. Discovered that my rear prop now needs the UJs doing but that's a tomorrow job and with that off it'll let me sort out that diff flange leak as well.
The shuttle vavle came off and is now in bits, being cleaned up for reassembly.
The plastic switch seems to be fouling the shuttle valve itself if fully screwed down. No washer was there so head scratching time for assembly to make it work...
Being a student has quite a significant effect on the viability of buying and running a Landy. Firstly, affordability. Insurance and reliability as mentioned, and fuel and general running costs. Also, consider the theft risk. They do get stolen...
Agree with the above, it may well have seating for four in the back but only if those seated on one side have legs.
If you are a youngster I would strongly suggest an insurance quote would be wise, infact regardless of age get a qoute first.
Welcome :)
Don’t take a sellers word there is no “serious” rust.
Don’t be taken in cos it looks “pretty “ on top.
As above mentioned numbers need to match car and V5, not just the plate but the stamped chassis number, And taking somebody who...
I reckon it's a 300tdi
We shall see if the chassis number exists with no welding in that area.
Maybe the OP can provide a photo of the chassis number stamped on the chassis.
I think it looks quite nice. I think I'd prefer it if mine was that colour rather than your typical army/nato green.
Speaking of mine... day 3 of doing things, I dug into the misfire, played about with things, got it running better... nearly...
It looks nice in the picture. However, look beyond the paintwork, alloys and steps. Make sure it’s not just tarted up. The engine is not original. It’s most likely from a disco 1. What does the seller consider a nasty repair? If the chassis and...
Painting the 90 over the last couple of days. It’s going from white to a kind of olive green. I’ve got the roof, rear roof side panels and doors off and painting them all while they are off, but the bodywork was so hot yesterday I’ve ended up...
And the answer is...simple.
At the foremost inlet port there is a small circular peg:
Push the piston in a little to take the spring pressure off it and remove it.
Relax the pressure on the piston and it pops out:
And its now apart...
The PAS tank and pipes were removed today. The return line was in two peices, with jubilee clips either side of the join.
This is what I found when I pulled em apart:
A male-male union of as yet unmeasured size but likely 3/8 BSP. Might come in...
I think std series exhaust might be to small a diameter?
Nice pipe, but 234 quid kin hell!
I made my own.
I had to go up because of pto shaft, early diesel also took their exhaust out the nearside inner wing.
At it again for a second day in a row... finishing off the wheel bearing, which was easier said than done, having made a bit of a mistake yesterday! I got there in the end though, swivel housing refilled and went out for a drive. Still got a...
A while back I posted a question about what 2-pack body adhesives folks were using. Someone suggested Optima from Ebay so I sourced one.
Yesterday I broke the seal and started bonding in various patches and repair strips.
Its quite a thick...
Busy few days, finished off fitting the galv capping on the tub, re aligned the tub to chassis and bolted down, fitted the heater fan box, fitted a one piece BRT motorsport braided clutch pipe, painted the vent flap fly screens black and re...
So today since I was off work I thought I'd make the very sensible decision and do some work on the 110... got a gas strut fitted on the rear door, refitted the chequer plate panel on the door and put one of those folding table things on it...
Hi and welcome!
Lots of good help and advice on here. There’s good write up in the members projects section of a disco 2 V8 project too which might give you some inspiration.
Bloody things ... My 1994 has the long thin ones, you need to pull them away from the wing and then twist the bulb and holder out...
The orginal ones were stuck on with double sided tape.
Not right IMO.
So after a friend of a friend pulled one of...
Well maybe you're right, then. I should forget about a respray and just get it jet-washed, T-cut and waxed for 500 quid or whatever they charge these days. The interior is actually quite good, just rather grubby but that too would certainly clean up.
I had almost this exact same issue not so long ago, exacerbated when towing.
I replaced my drop arm ball joint, which impoved it, but was still getting a strange feeling through the steering going into corners hard or towing, I checked...
