Hi and welcome!
Good luck with your search. Let us know how you get on. Make sure you invest in lots of good security measures too. Landies are popular with thieves.
Nothing too exciting just did a big service.
All oils and filters.
Engine oil, black but no bits or discolouration
Front diff had a little christmas tree and a bit silvery, too be expected from an ATB after 10k.
TX box clean as a whistle...
Previous days have been spent getting the axles ready to drop. Most bolts were tight but shifted with a little heat. One was subject to the slitting wheel for failure to cooperate.
Whilst poking around I took a look at the swivel housings and...
I used to trial with one of the local all makes clubs in Somerset in my teens. I marshalled at a couple of comp safaris too in the Minehead area. Great fun and a good way to get yourself known in a club.
Great pics too. Looks like a fun day out. 😎
@Chalky. it’s a good to go collecting stakes at the end of the day. Happy you enjoyed it.
Good to see the youngster been out in an exciting environment.
You can get special kids motorsport licence from 13 to event in trials
Well just got home and met some very friendly people! What a great crowd, makes my 90 look and feel slow now! Drove the course at the end of the day with my boy in one of the vehicles, those v8's on song make the hair stand up on your neck!!!
@kermit_rr been away from racing for a few years but these clubs are friendly & most drivers like others looking over the motors.
If you show your face often enough and help out you do get offers of a seat in racers. We used to do charity days...
Used to race with staffs & shrops. Always fun club as they do inter clubs so there are plenty of motors to watch.
If not racing we would marshal in stupid places just for the action
Enjoy your day…
Hey guys, I don't know if anyone localish would be interested, but the Staff and Shrops Landrover club are running a Comp Safari today at Greenhall Farm in Llanfyllin, always a great crack as a spectator!
Only just found out so will be standing...
Replaced the front springs on the lads 90, fuel filter, air filter and one of the radius arm rear bushes.... also replaced the auxiliary belt as it was tearing up....
Found grease/oil leaking onto the rear o/s brakes, so looks like a new seal...
So I decided it was fuel line replacement day... yeah, maybe a little overdue as this is the rear section of return line, dated 2015!
I replaced that fine, and then I went for the feed line which is even older... got that off but I'm yet...
Those wheels and tyres look fine and should work no probs.
The next size up is a 285/75R16, they are a little taller and will look quite a bit fatter. But you might end up with this size sticking out of the wheel arches a little. Might not be a...
I went for the flatdog springs as suggested by @300bhp/ton who happened to recommend them to me too. I went for standard height but HD as I use my 90 mainly as a work wagon! I went for bilstein shocks and gwyn lewis galvanised retainers and...
300bhp/ton - thank you so much for the deep insightful post, a lot to take in where this is all new to me. Appreciate you taking your time, I'll give it a proper read and come back with any questions if any!
tottot - mostly rough rocky terrain...
Need to get back into the zone on this so hopefully some updates coming. Does anyone have the following parts knocking around, preferably somewhere near Derby…?
200tdi rear bumper (no lights)
200tdi fuel pump/sender
Top & bottom fuel tanks...
What age is your defender? Replacing your suspension with new standard springs and shocks will be an improvement if the current ones are original. Consider upgrading with the likes of old man emu.
Your fog light should only come on if you have your head lights on.(if you put high beam on the fog lights turn off)
And if you are on glass fuses make sure you get a reading on both sides. These holders are prone to not working.
Now if you...

Ok so back story, I knew there was pressure building up in the front axle from when I changed the diff oil but kinda ignored it... Some time later I was changing the wheels over and noticed some play in one of the wheels. Suspecting a bearing I...
So I put some LED bulbs in my front indicators a while ago (300tdi, 1994, D90).
I had noticed that when I attached the trailer the trailer lamp indicator only flashed once.
Not too fussed so carried on.
I decided to fit more LED's into the...
