could be a number of things. first things i would check is; engine mounts gearbox mounts engine cover (can you move it around by hand?) trans box weight (metal/rubber block between box and chassis rail near to handbrake drum, is known for the bolts to come loose)

have you checked the wastegate arm on the turbo isnt seized?

Yes you are mad!! But I understand. If the price of fuel was better I'd be driving a V8 rather than a tractor in a disco body. Enjoy it

those map figures look a bit on the low side. have you tried cleaning the sensor with some carb cleaner?

From memory I think it's turbo presure. Figure is in kpa

You need to colect live data from nanocom, ideally under load. Find a long hill and drive up it with revs about 2500-3000rpm. Should be getting a Reading of about 220 from the map sensor

Poss not. it could be giving a lower reading. would only reg on nanocom as a fault code if the sensor packed up and caused the ECU to use a default value

Nothing shows up on nanocom as faults but will be recording live data on way home tonight to see if anything shows up

harmonic ballencer? check for any play in the crank pully Air in the fuel system? any fuel leak around fuel pressure reg? also have a look around the fuel lines at the tank. they are prone to rubbing on the chassis and letting air in. whats it like when driving? (taking it from your post...

Had it looked at this morning. Looks like it's the TC on the way out as they said gear changes are a bit slow and could be causing the horrible vibration at 2200rpm. Been quoted £600 for TC replacement or £1350 all in for complete new box. They think the temp warning could be down to a dodgy sensor

Tried reving in neutral, still whines, and today temp warning light came on and box is holding on to revs slot more before changing. Looks like it needs a closer look

Will try that. The box had the full works (oil, filters, full system flush and cooler cleaned) due to the temp warning light coming on most days. Old oil was completly stuffed

Did originally wonder that but it changes with engine speed rather than road speed. Noise is similar to when radios in old cars got interference from the engine put through the speakers (if you get what I mean!)
