That is the next job. Back to the sensors. All seemed ok until I had actually bolted them in place. Must have disturbed something...... Job for next week. Off to Supercharged Saturday at Silverstone for tomorrow.

Update on my situation. All springs are now replaced and pumped up. Not losing air it seems now. I made some ride height calibration blocks from a sawn up broomstick. Will do to get approx heights and fits nicely into the bumpstops. Still getting...

JamesBB replied to the thread P38A Rear bumper mounts. ANR2381 no longer available?.
Well I have made one. See how it goes. Not content with the bracket rusted out, I then turned my attention to the bracket (hook thing) that resides in the bumper. That is ok one side, totally missing the other. So it looks like I need to make...

JamesBB replied to the thread P38A Rear bumper mounts. ANR2381 no longer available?.
I had no choice, it was falling off, the brackets were not holding it on at all. The bumper itself is shot too. Plastic is no longer flat and bent up in the sun, steel inner bumper is corroded, 2 of the mounts no longer exist. Have to find a...

Better. Just thinking of fabricating these brackets myself, they do not look that hard to make. Sprayed Lanoguard down the chassis rails as far as it could go after vacuuming out and inserting the whole length of the vac hose.

Thankfully it is the only really rusty part of the car. The last 15 years I have spent a week per year laying under it cleaning, protecting and painting. Never could get the rear bumper off though. Did not think about waiting for it to rust...

Hi All Usual P38 HSE 4.6 1999. Next disaster is: Rear bumper mounts have largely gone. Anybody know where to get these now? All the usual suppliers are claiming they are no longer made or available. Part is ANR2381. Also need the side mount...

JamesBB replied to the thread P38A 1996 WABCO ABS ECU connector.
Update. Well that was easy, just place a carpet over the modules under the seat (removing seat first) then lay on your back on the carpet, legs in the air, arms under the dash. Got it out and done what I wanted to. Now on to the next disaster.

Hi All 1996 P38 HSE 4.6 GEMS. Apologies in advance, this seems a question that probably has a simple answer. How on earth do I remove the connector from the ECU? It's an early one with the single large 35 way plug. I do not want to force it...

Thought so, makes sense. Looking at the wiring diagram there is a chance I can find one side from the other by looking at the cable colour. If it needs stripping back I will leave it and use a meter to trace it back on one side to the ABS module....

The sensor wiring must go to the correct side or the brake will be applied to the wrong wheel in the event of one spinning.

As you've got schrader valves, you can adjust the height manually, checking the sensor voltages & bit-counts throughout their range. Easier to debug the wiring that way, and you don't need to worry about reading faults or the ECU adjusting...

Update time again. All 4 air springs now replaced. As mentioned previously, 1 old one popped (loud bang) on attempt to re-inflate via the schrader valves. the other 3 are all in what looks to be goodish condition, no perishing, so I will keep as...
