    Existing engine ground to a halt when oil return pipe came off on motorway. Once cooled and oil added engine did restart but as it warmed up clanging started.

    The fact that it will actually start is a good sign I assume?

    The whole thing ground to a halt. Once it had cooled down it would restart with no clanging but as it warmed up the clanging started.

    Oil return pipe came off at speed. All oil drained in a matter of seconds.
