That is actually a good idea, even better if we had some wheel nuts for steel wheels. Besides sod's law dictates 5 miles down the road we would get a puncture on the way to collect them.
Overcoming 'fiddly' can be lucrative. My one-time indie worked out ways of accomplishing certain tasks that officially required the body lifting. He was not only inventive but had small hands .. true he went through a good few sticky plasters...
Always wearing some form of safety glasses with work. If dusty out come the sealed goggles.
My theory if I can’t see I can’t earn.
I am at the eye clinic next week for an appointment & they say I can’t drive for 5hrs.
As parking is crap I may...
Is this how the grease you used came ??
If yes, this packaging is designed for the narrow end to go into the “whole”. It is well designed and it works well, with no requirement to heat it or remove the grease prior to using it.
Have you checked the amount of free play the pushrod to master has? It is only a very small amount but if too much no brakes. No freeplay and brakes will stick on some.
They are poly bushed at both ends. The chassis end has a johnny joint which gives better less restrictive movement. Plus they are a lot beefier than the standard arms.
The ones I have appear to be stick on, with double sided tape. Like I say, they are still in the box, as I would still prefer the ****ty original ones to these smooth shiney gloss black bits of plastic.... I think they were supplied to be...
Hi Gratch,
Yeah I wondered that when I saw the photo of it.
I didn't realise there was a thermostat or washer in there cos I couldn't get it off but now I know where the retaining screw is I will give it a clean up and a new O ring. No reason...
Forgot the easy way to empty the 1shot.
Have you got a an old metal brake flex clamp?
Put the end of the 1shot in the clamp ready. Cut the nipple end & place into hole.
Twist/roll the clamp down the 1shot like a toothpaste tube
Comes out very...
Glad you’re sorted, messing about with eyes not good, 3-4 weeks ago I was derusting a piece of steel to make a bracket for my vacuum bottle , I used brick acid (concentrated hydrocloric acid) , I wore my safety specs, cleaned up perfect in 2...
Sounds like a plan. I'll have plenty of opportunity to turn it over before I get the fuel primed after changing the diesel filter, apparently another common pain in the backside problem I'll have to overcome!
Just a note to say..... Watch your peepers!!....
I am 49 and have lived a long life and spent many hours grinding/welding etc......all self taught and whilst aware of the dangers of the spinning discs of woe, never really given a stuff as nowt...
I lied, my local LR just got a case of 10. Last time I called they said they didnt have it. Guy told me when there is a car in for service that needs that part they will order a case (LR cost) and service that part. Just a chance of right timing.
Allegedly filters out water and crud. Sounds like it's fixing a problem that doesn't exist.
Yes you get water in petrol but I've never had it cause a problem. And regular filters/sediment bowls do a decent job
I opted for tubular turrets to reduce crud build up and subsequent corrosion. Had to trim some of the inner wing and turrets to make fit but love the look of the exposed shock. I have only done the offside so far as it took longer than expected...
Try using a BMW without indicating… them steering wheels have a mind iof there own.fun trying to ignore the movements
Scania Lorry
If some on comes down the slip road and pulls infront of you too close, dash board lights up with collision...
I’ve gone with steel for now since the other ones seem to be! But saying that the other ones don’t have spring washers on them haha,
Putting the nut on has stopped the firebell noise and as a second bonus, made the engine wayyyyyy more quiet!
Took a spin in the Mini, no further instances of "front-firing" (so far) since I changed the dashpot oil to 30W. :D
Too soon to declare it "fixed", but I think we are getting there or thereabouts. :)
