    Yep you will need a new cover. Remove pump off the rear of the transfer box & there may be a gear you need to remove as well. You may need a diffent out put gear depending on the above.

    1949 S1 knock on metal type Early disco Both are knock on,not measured or removed to check further. They look the same size(my theory is wheel stubs are all the same design/size for most years) unless you got HD with bigger shafts
