Update…. 3good days of lanes. We decided not to do strata as lots of bikes out on the Taffy Dakar. They warned us 1 normal lane had a landrover off the edge & rolled down the bank & been there a few days. We was able to miss the section...

@landielover2a Here a few photos of the front brackets needed to mount the 2B cab. This does have a new chassis(inspected by dvsa) It has power steering(adaption done to chassis when built)

Broke the headlight washer.. rest of it was fine due to lack of speed involved,but if someone was walking between the motors it could have been worse.

And it never ends... the brake check light was constantly illuminated... Both wires had corroded/snapped off the level switch that sits in the clutch/brake fluid reservoir... had to unpick the connector and solder the wires back on.

The rear floor had enough metal moth holes to think pulling the floor up and replacing it was a good idea: Its not a job to be rushed. I think there were 66 spot welds and I lost count with the steel rivets, some of which were easy to access...

Mine needed an adjustment this week. 3 clicks as normal and parked on the hill. 10 mins later it rolled back 5 foot into the Hilux behind me….centre double locking nuts had vibrated loose green laning. May change this to a single nylock instead

+1 on the capillary type. Fitted 1 to the S1 and you even see these move when the stat opens.

The capilliary type gauges are pretty decent. Have had one on my 200tdi for years, very accurate and requires no power. Tim is the make I have fitted.

Bit more tidying up. This was rusty and flaking everywhere. I meant to only clean up where my fuse box earths but ended up taking the lot back to metal. Epoxy primered then only had half a can of black left so used some caliper paint

My thermostat opens at 85’ on an analogue dial. That equates to 3/4 the way up the Land Rover temp dial

I’m sure defenders got this also. Don’t ask me where the one is for my resto. It’s in a really safe place that even I’m not allowed to know
