I may or may not be correct but I heard that it was going to be 2006 onward for the higher rate untill 2010 then went back to post 04 2001 for the tax on emissions. Anyone clear it up?

Since my Rangey is a 51 plate 2.5 diesel I will be hammered under the new ved rules.:( What happens if I put in an engine from a 2000 year model will my emissions have to be rated on that engine which being pre April 2001 goes on a flat rate?:) or does it go on the age of the vehicle.:( If so...

I replaced gearbox oil and filter/seals and mine is now running smooth as silk didnt even put in additives. I know this thread is old now but would like to know how everyone else got on. Cheers C.B.

my rangey reg sept 2001 will cost me according to parkers in 2010 £455 to tax, how can they be allowed to do that? I use the vehicle only to tow my caravan and I do about 2500 miles a year in it. Any petitions against it?

Arn't the twin sockets just above the tow bar or do I need glashes. Quick point by bigandyt, does the fuel computer tell lies if you have the engine management box re-mapped,or just if a power box or new chip fitted?

Problem with mine is the gas strut has packed up and have you seen the price of them on fleabay, its cheaper to but two rear hatch struts than one cubby box strut, and I am not kidding.
